Golden Bough

On one of the prettiest walks I know, I had been admiring a row of large, old oak trees. On one particular walk the orange golden rays of sunshine were falling on them and that was a moment I decided I would have to paint this scene.

A visit to Sonoma Lake inspired me to include a lake in this painting. In reality this lake was only a field. I love to idealize a scene and that’s what happened here.
